The exotic landscapes of South Africa have a distinct charm, making the country really interesting for travelers who are looking for a variety of things to do. All year round, South Africa never fails to wow its guests with many fascinating highlights—be it with its wildlife, diverse geography, and out of this world luxury cabins and lodges. Home to the Cradle of Humankind and a great place to discover the Big Five, your vacation here will never be boring as there are so many things to see and do. Your biggest challenge will be planning your itinerary. Think of South Africa as a huge box of surprises, it can be overwhelming deciding which one to pick first. Here are some holiday suggestions.

Get to know the local wildlife.

If you came to South Africa for nature, making your priority to see the Big Five is a must. Being able to have the chance to get to know the leopard, lion, rhino, elephant, and buffalo all in one place is a rare opportunity that you should not miss. For this, the Kruger National Park is highly recommended. Aside from the Big Five, also take some time to appreciate the many birds and exotic plant life of the country. Make sure that you have an expert for a guide. Also, don’t forget to bring your binoculars.

Other venues where you can get to know the South African wildlife is in northern KwaZulu-Natal. This is a good place to see the rhinos as there are plenty of them here. Aside from this, you also may want to check out the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. This is the ideal venue to spot the black-maned lion. It also is famous for its amazing photo opportunities.
