Kenya Highlights: Lake Nakuru National Park

By on December 7, 2014

Unlike most parts of Kenya, the climate at Lake Nakuru National Park is pleasing. It’s not too hot or too cold, but a nice medium. The catch however is that you are most likely be rained on, especially if you visit during the afternoon. To effectively tour the park, you’d need a vehicle. So it is highly recommended that you book for a tour for a more comprehensive experience.

During your visit to the park, it is recommended that you put on some sunscreen and that you drink plenty of water. Also, put on some insect repellant to avoid being bitten by bugs and mosquitoes. It will also be great if you bring your own food items, as well as picnic and camping gear if you decide to camp insider the park. There are lodges on site where you can stay if you have the budget for it. The lodges usually include a meal package with their offers, which is great if you don’t want to be bothered with bringing food and meal preparations. Lake Nakuru Lodge is recommended for the whole family and is also a good honeymoon site for couples. This offers impressive accommodations, great views, and delicious food too. This establishment is within the park grounds. For those who want to stay outside the park, you can choose between Nakuru Backpackers Hostel and Merica Hotel.
