The water that runs at the base of Arenal Volcano is heated by the active volcano and offers thermal pool to interested guests. There are a number of choices of thermal pool spring attractions around the base of the volcano. The Tabacon Resort is one of the more attended and famous hot springs in the country. The resort has a number of pools and streams, ranging in temperatures and depths, a lovely garden, and a full bar and restaurant. Tabacon's fame has caught up with it and has become a fairly busy place, especially in the high season. The crowd can be sometimes a little much and can take away from the atmosphere. If you are looking for a smaller and more intimate place then we recommend the Eco-Termales Fortuna. Eco-Termales has a number of pools, changing room with shower, and a restaurant and bar.
