The coffee exported from Costa Rica is well known. But not many of us know about the process of growing and processing coffee. Located through the country are numerous small coffee farms as well as large coffee plantation. In the central valley as well as in Monteverde there are a number of opportunities to take tours of these farms. During a tour you will get to explore a coffee farm and see how the trees are grown and care for, how the fruit is picked, and then how the coffee bean is processed, dried, and packaged for exportations.
