Costa Rica is home to numerous opportunities and attractions that will take you into the tree tops for exploration and adventure. These activities range from Canopy Tours and Hanging Bridge Walkways to Tree Observation Platforms and Aerial Trams. Biologists were the first to seriously study the canopy, using such varied devices as mountain climbing equipment and construction cranes. Recently tourists have had the opportunity to explore the canopy as well. Attractions now include modified ski lifts style aerial trams, bridge walkways from ridge top to ridge top that allow you to walk through the tree canopy, platforms placed in the canopy for wildlife viewing, and for a little more of a rush the canopy zip line tour. The canopy tour is designed to let you, while attached by a harness, to travel along a stainless steel cable from tree top to tree top. All of these activities allow for travelers of different physical levels to enjoy the wonders of the tree canopy and depending on how quite you are spot such animals as tree frogs, monkeys, vine snakes, sloths and hundreds of bird species.
