About Us

Chris Seek and Ben Isenberg founded Solimar in December of 2001. The two met in Costa Rica back in 1998 while taking an ecotoursim class at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. Chris and Ben share a passion of travel and promoting sustainable tourism, but their backgrounds are very different. Chris possesses the business and marketing experience while Ben possesses the conservation and non-profit experience.

By combining these diverse backgrounds, the two have created an organization that addresses the needs of tourism providers, tourism consumers, and the local residents. In addition to Chris and Ben's driving passion there is a small staff of 7 talented individuals with years of experience in web site development, graphic design, video production, flash development, public relations, and international travel.
