In the days of colonial rule Winston Churchill described Uganda as "The Pearl of Africa." Join us on this tour and discover what the glimmer in this "pearl" is all about. The Equator as well as the Rift Valley runs through Uganda, resulting in a very unique eco-system. Uganda is also well known for its game reserves, magnificent scenery, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and rich culture. It is said that the people of Uganda is the friendliest in Africa and the Queen Elizabeth National Park is described by many as the most beautiful park in Africa.

Itinerary

 

Day 1- Arrival in Kampala. Today you will be met at the airport by a private driver who will take you directly to your hotel. After checking in, you will have the rest of the day to check in and relax.

Day 2 - You will have the day to drive to Lake Mburo. We will arrange a guided tour of the local drum makers and fruit markets. You'll see some of the most beautiful scenery in Africa. The afternoon will be spent on a thrilling game drive in Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 3 - Today you will travel to Lake Bunyonyi. Bunyonyi means "place of birds" and here water birds are prolific. You will spend the night by the lakeside while enjoying the magnificant scenery.

Day 4 - After breakfast, you will take a private transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. More than 230 different species of birds have been sighted here. This afternoon you can spend on a walk through beautiful forest grasslands to Munyanga waterfalls.

Day 5 - After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking- which may last the entire day. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family.

Day 6 - After breakfast, take a three-hour drive to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha Sector is a remote and beautiful extension that is host to a large variety and volume of wildlife including lions, elephants, several antelope species, warthogs, and the elusive giant forest hog among others.

Day 7 - You set out early in the morning for a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, elephants, solitary buffaloes. You have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Mid morning relax by the pool at the lodge.

Day 8 - Mid-morning after breakfast you will go for a game drive in the Northern Sector of the park. You willdo a game drive in the Baboon Cliff famous for nice scenic views, views of the shadows of the mountains of the moon – the Rwenzoris.

Day 9- After breakfast, you take a 45-minute drive to Kibale National Park, where you will spend the day hiking through the Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees and other primates. This park, which averages about 3,300 feet in elevation, is an extension of the great rainforests of central Africa. Kibale is inhabited by three large “communities” of chimps, each numbering more than 100 individuals.

Day 10- Today you transfer to the international airport for your flight home. After breakfast, a private driver will take you directly to the airport. Safe travels!

Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest

Located in south-western Uganda, at the junction of the plain and mountain forests, Bwindi Park covers 32,000 ha and is known for its exceptional biodiversity, with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns. Many types of birds and butterflies can also be found there, as well as many endangered species, including the mountain gorilla.
