Day 1- Arrive at Cape Town International Airport. A private driver from The Journey will meet you for transfer to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day to check in and relax.

Day 2 - Today you will have the day to explore Cape Town and surrounds. We will arrange a guided city tour of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and Groot Constantia. You'll see Robben Island across the bay in the distance.

Day 3 - Today you will enjoy a full-day Cape Peninsula drive. Enjoy the views of Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak en route to the Cape of Good Hope. Return to Cape Town for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Day 4 - Today, enjoy a full day at leisure on the Waterfront. Here you will experience world-class dinning, shopping, and nightlife.

Day 5 - You are met by your guide for departure to the Winelands. En route to Paarl, visit the Fairview Wine Estate for a cheese tasting. Also visit the Afrikaans Language Monument to admire the view from there across the Drakenstein Valley.

Day 6 - Today you will enjoy a morning at leisure in Franschhoek.
After check-out, meet your guide for transfer to Boschendal Wine Estate. Here you will enjoy a wonderful picnic lunch. The setting is beautiful and surrounded by mountains and vineyards.

Day 7 - You will meet your hired car this morning and drive the coastal road to Hermanus. Here you will enjoy a boat-based whale watching experience around Walker Bay. After, continue on to Grootbos.

Days 8-10 - You will have the next three days to explore South Africa's famous Garden Route by private driver. You will follow the N2 via Swellendam and Heidelberg to Mossel Bay. From here you have the choice of visiting the Cango Caves, the Ostrich Show farms, or the Canfo Wildlife Ranch. Finish the route with the Featherbed Experience in Knysna

Cape Floral Region Protected Areas

A serial site - in Cape Province, South Africa - made up of eight protected areas, covering 553,000-ha. The Cape Floral Region is one of the richest areas for plants in the world. It represents less than 0.5% of the area of Africa but is home to nearly 20% of the continent’s flora. The site displays outstanding ecological and biological processes associated with the Fynbos vegetation, which is unique to the Cape Floral Region. The outstanding diversity, density and endemism of the flora are among the highest worldwide. Unique plant reproductive strategies, adaptive to fire, patterns of seed dispersal by insects, as well as patterns of endemism and adaptive radiation found in the flora are of outstanding value to science.
